An illustrated history of the 40-year tenure of the twin air bases in East Anglia by the US Air Force

THE RESULT OF over seven years of extensive research, drawing on personal accounts from former base personnel and official USAF documents, this book record the eventful history of the Bentwaters & Woodbridge ‘twin-base’ complex during the postwar years, when it was home to a succession of US Air Force squadrons.

In addition to the story of the bases themselves, this book also records all the USAF units who served at the bases, along with the various aircraft types they operated. The text is illustrated throughout with many rare and previously unpublished photographs.

The concluding chapter provides an insight into the development of the ‘Bentwaters Cold War Museum’.
This book will be enjoyed by any aviation enthusiast or historian who wishes to learn more about the USAF years at RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge and will, of course, be a nostalgic treat for any former USAF personnel who served at the bases.
