In More Pearls she continues with her nostalgic descriptions of bygone Chichester and its colourful characters as she recounts stories of her adolescence in the 1930s, her wartime years as a Land Girl in the Women's Land Army and her subsequent experiences in showbusiness.

As a teenager, Pearl became something of a local celebrity as a singer and actress and went on to tour the country after the war with Joan Greenwood's Theatre Workshop, acting and singing duets with a young Ewan McColl.
