by Molly Corbally
Charming and warm-hearted evocation of the life and work of a rural District Health Visitor in the postwar years

In this entertaining memoir Molly Corbally looks back on her eventful career as a District Health Visitor in the rural Midlands during the post-war years of the 1940s - 70s in the course of which she was called upon to tend to the needs of a wide variety of people from all walks of life and all ages and social classes.

Entertainingly told in a modest and understated manner, her tales are a colourful snapshot of the times, some uplifting and inspirational, others sad though never sentimental and many hilariously funny.

All are sure to appeal, in particular, to readers old enough to remember the years in which the action is set or those who, like Molly, were employed as healthcare professionals during the same era, though this is by no means essential in order to enjoy her warm and humane stories.
